Crusty Herb Bread Back to Colleen's Recipes

I'm very excited to have found a garlic bread that we can eat and still eat healthily.

I found this recipe in LA Times Food Section. Oops! I seem to have cut the date off, but it was from a Wednesday in the last week of March or beginning of April, 2002.

If you are following Weight Watchers points, each serving is 4 points.

3 servings French or Italian bread I found a french bread that was 8 servings for 2 loaves, so I used 3/4 of one of the loaves. It was 3 points per serving.
1 clove garlic, mashed I use pre-minced garlic in a jar
1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
3 Tablespoons I can't Believe It's Not Butter Light 1 point per Tablespoon or butter, if you are not worried about fat, cholesterol, etc.

  1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Cut the bread in half lengthwise.
  2. Use a mortar and pestle to crush the spices. Add the garlic and crush some more. Mix in the ICBINB or Butter. Spread the butter on the bread and place on a baking sheet. Bake until crispy, about 5 minutes. Cut into slices and serve.
