Colleen's Wish List

Here, for the benefit of those who have asked, is a list of things that I like. Please don't be offended. This list was created at the request of friends and family:

Reading

• Costuming reference books regarding the United States in the 20th Century, such as the ones by Dover.
• books about life in the US during WWII
• "For the Boys: The Racy Pin-ups of World War II," $39.95 from www.collectorspress.com
• "The Gaylord Wacs" by Harriet Green Robinson
• "Robert A. Heinlein" by James Gifford - www.nitrosyncretic.com
• Penny Press Word Games, Crosswords, Variety Puzzles magazine
• Subscription to a Science Fiction Magazine, such as Analog
• Paperback books: Fantasy or Science Fiction books
• Books on fairy tales, especially modern retellings.
• Books about Arts & Crafts homes, or about using space better instead of using more space.

Writing Stuff

• Cool colored pens
• Cute stickers (adult cute, like Mary Englbright) to put on my letters
• Postage Stamps w/cool pictures for my letters (like the US Century series)
• Nice writing paper, maybe with my initials on it

Special

• Family photos, especially pictures of Shawn and our parents and grandparents when they were younger
• Picture Frames: black or silver
• Special recipes from friends and family

Clothing

• I am usually size 8 pants/skirts, and usually medium tops. I do not prefer button-up shirts
• Help picking clothes out
• fabric. I am currently considering making a pair of 40's style pants, and I need to make a costume for the Star Wars Celebration convention next year. 

Household

• A good knife sharpener
• Spices: Cinnamon, real Vanilla
• Almond extract
• Small candles from Yankee Candle - not the ones in glass jars
• two dishes, bowls, or napkins - I like to serve on different styles
• Teabags from Republic of Tea, available at Cost Plus: Cinnamon Cardamom, Vanilla Almond, Decaf Ginger Peach
• Cloth napkins

Garden

• things for the garden: plants including herbs and vegetables, compost, books on starting a garden, books on how to make your own compost
• Garden lights - I especially like the brownish lights (set of ten) with the leaf pattern and the aluminum set with the butterfly and dragonfly pattern
• Garden stakes - the bronze butterfly or dragonfly shapes

Music

• Books on Tape: Science Fiction, Fantasy, or Mystery
• I'm not really into music.

DVD

• Movies about strong women: Fried Green Tomatoes, Erin Brokavich 
• Period pieces: Anne of Avonlea with Megan Follows
• Comedies: Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles
• TV Shows: Black Adder, Red Dwarf, West Wing, 
• My website has our movie list on it, if you think I may have it.

Other

• a picnic at a park
• dinner with friends
• a movie night with classic movies I haven't seen (I'm woefully under my classic movie quota, I'm informed.)

• my favorite color is blue
• I am eclectic in my household tastes, i.e. most of my dishes are from different sets

Please do not attempt to buy Star Wars toys for Shawn. That path only leads to sorrow. You won't be able to find that particular one that he doesn't yet own.;)

• Tape episodes of new cartoons off the cartoon network. We don't get that channel, and he needs to watch cartoons for the voiceover practice.
