Debate moderator Brian Williams has said several times that they’re out of time for various segments and that the debate producers were not expecting the candidates to answer their questions as extensively as they are. If nothing else, the candidates are all politicians–what else were the producers thinking? Perhaps a little less structure to allow the debaters to finish their sentences rather than cutting them off.
