When “Don’t Stop” should just be “Stop”

So I haven’t ever watched The Sopranos, I don’t have HBO and really wasn’t interested. But like everyone else, I saw the last minute of the last episode repeated over and over and it made me remember how much I liked Journey. What. Quiet, you. Anyway, so I figured, hmm, I wonder if they’re still [...]

What.

Quiet, you.

Anyway, so I figured, hmm, I wonder if they’re still around. Could be fun to go see them live. The Google pointed me to JourneyMusic.com (warning: Flash, audio) and I poked around there for a few minutes before realizing that Steve Perry is no longer with Journey, and in fact hasn’t been since 1997 (though I was kind of surprised to read that they were a going concern in ’97). Imagine 14 punk rock classics ripping through your speakers at warped speed, complete with 1-2-3-4 count offs, chants and shout outs in pure punk, fist raising abandon, all performed on the steelpans (or steel drums) strait from the islands!

Beating out speedy Ramones’ anthems like “Blitzkrieg Bop”, “Sheena is a Punk Rocker” and “Rockaway Beach”, to the tender love song “I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend” and one dropping “Pinhead” in true reggae fashion on the island style steelpan, “Pan For Punks” takes you on a punk rock journey like never before.

Samples and clips on the site.
