When “Don’t Stop” should just be “Stop”

So I haven’t ever watched The Sopranos, I don’t have HBO and really wasn’t interested. But like everyone else, I saw the last minute of the last episode repeated over and over and it made me remember how much I liked Journey. What. Quiet, you. What.

Quiet, you.

Anyway, so I figured, hmm, I wonder if they’re still around. Could be fun to go see them live. The Google pointed me to JourneyMusic.com (warning: Flash, audio) and I poked around there for a few minutes before realizing that Steve Perry is no longer with Journey, and in fact hasn’t been since 1997 (though I was kind of surprised to read that they were a going concern in ’97). Since then they’ve gone through a couple of lead singers and are touring with Def Leppard.

Guys. I think it’s time to shut it down. Really. When the singer who made your songs memorable is no longer singing them, that kind of removes the reason for the rest of the band to go on.

Google is interviewing candidates for engineering positions at our lunar hosting and research center, opening late in the spring of 2007. This unique opportunity is available only to highly-qualified individuals who are willing to relocate for an extended period of time, are in top physical condition and are capable of surviving with limited access to such modern conveniences as soy low-fat lattes, The Sopranos and a steady supply of oxygen.

I don’t know if I could do without the soy low-fat lattes, myself.
